      Sankofa-fa Art Exhibit

Sankofa is a word in the Twi Language of Ghana translates to "Go back and get it" and also refers to the Asante Adinkra symbol. Sankofa is often associated with the proverb, “Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi," which translates as: "It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten." The theme of this event aligns perfectly with the shift our community is experiencing in this Socio-political climate. The artists and creatives participating each have stories about going back and claiming their space in the world and the business professionals involved in this project have also done the work to remember what they left behind. We are all retracing our steps, reclaiming our strength and gifts to be the citizens this world needs to get on track. “Claim it”. The event will be held at 5380 Studios and will feature a group of dynamic local artists and established community partnerships.
