      FCS | Focused Community Strategies FCS would love to invite you to our upcoming Open House! Come to Historic South Atlanta to see, hear, and experience up close and personal how FCS seeks the flourishing of our neighborhood through innovative and holistic development. If you are a full-time student, use the code "Student" at checkout to receive a 25% discount. PRE-OPEN HOUSE WORKSHOP, $75 Monday, 9:30a-12:30p. Have you read Toxic Charity? Are you leading a ministry or organization that needs to change it's way of engaging those experiencing poverty? Sign up for our Pre-Open House Workshop, "Changing the Charity Paradigm." Get equipped with the tools you will need to lead your organization or church through the difficult process of change. Led by our dynamic training team at The Lupton Center. (Lunch on your own) OPEN HOUSE, $125 Monday 2:30p-7:30p. Afteroon Session, Dinner and Plenary with FCS Founder and author, Bob Lupton. This will be a presenation on the Mission, Vision, and Values that have shaped FCS's 40-years of Community Development in Atlanta. Led by the director of The Lupton Center Dr. Shawn Duncan. Tuesday 8a-2p. We will begin the day with a walking tour of our neighborhood looking at it's rich history and our role within the community. This walk is about 1.5 miles. With a number of stops to meet people and see our programs, it takes about 2 hours. After the tour we do an examination of the FCS philosophy and key pillars in our community development model: neighborhood engagement, mixed-income housing, and economic development. PRIVATE SESSION, $205 Tuesday 2:30p-4p. Need to go deeper? Following the traditional Open House sessions we are excited to offer five separate 90-minute private sessions to help organizations begin to reimagine their neighborhood through the lens of flourishing. Explore Mixed Income Housing with FCS President, Jim Wehner, or gain a deeper understanding of Neighborhood Engagement with FCS Executive Director, Katie Delp. Learn how complex and strategic community development methods can be integrated into best practices for your unique context from Lupton Center Trainers Donell Woodson, Monica Evans and Shawn Duncan. Conversations can include topics about Pride for Parents, Flourishing Neighborhood Index, City Shapers, Leaders Lab, Intentional Neighboring, SPIR Assessment, Economic Development, Housing Proforma and Strategy. One ticket is good for all members of your team. There are only 5 slots available for this opportunity (2:30-4p each). Buying one ticket gets your team access to one of these five private 90-minute sessions.  PARKING Parking is extremely limited on our campus. We ask that all Open House Guests use the "Additional Parking" lots highlighted on the map below.
