Celebrate Eid al-Adha at Children's Museum of Atlanta

Eid al-Adha commemorates the 10th day of the Islamic Hijjah to the holy city of Mecca and the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son. Known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, this three-day holiday is considered one of the most important holidays in the Islamic faith and is marked by charitable donations and prayer. Children’s Museum of Atlanta invites families to celebrate the holiday’s themes of charity and family with special crafts and events that highlight the rich culture and traditions of Eid al-Adha. With special guests from the Ismaili Muslim Community, kids can enjoy music and learn about traditional garb from Tajikistan, India, Egypt and Morocco during Music & Movement. Throughout the day, families can hear stories about Eid al-Adha at Storytime and children can visit the Art Studio to have beautiful henna art designs painted on their hands. In addition, little ones can stop by Eat A Georgia Rainbow to prepare a traditional Eid al-Adha dish.
