      IMCG Day-Long Mindfulness Meditation Learning Retreat

      Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Learning Retreat Saturday, February 5th 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Atlanta Friends Meeting 701 W. Howard Avenue Decatur, GA Insight Meditation Community of Georgia (IMCG) invites you to our first Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Learning Retreat. During this retreat, experienced mindfulness practitioners will lead us in mindfulness practices used to reduce stress and suffering. We will also explore how mindfulness of habitual family patterns and emotional wounding can lead to freedom from internal and external strife. Throughout the retreat there will be mindful movement and guided meditations on the four foundations of mindfulness. The first 25 registrants will receive a complimentary copy of The Issue at Hand: Essays on Buddhist Mindfulness Practice by esteemed dharma teacher Gil Fronsdal. The retreat leaders for the day will include: • Christi Humphrey, LCSW. Christi teaches mindfulness to people with chronic pain. She studied at the UMass Medical School's Center for Mindfulness. Christi is an IMCG co-founder. • Stan Grier, Community Dharma Leader. Stan is a Wellness Consultant offering a diversity of services through qigong, yoga, meditation and food consciousness for individuals, corporations, and other institutions. • Dr. Helen Vantine, Ph.D. Helen teaches mindfulness, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. She studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness in Worchester, MA. • Ayo Yetunde, M.A. Ayo is a Pastoral Counselor and certified meditation teacher. She is founder of Sacred Refuge Sangha a co- founder of Insight Meditation Community of Georgia. Cost of registration: $35 per person Deadline for registration: Tuesday, February 1st.
