      Got Your Back Day 5K Walk/Run 2019

ABOUT THE EVENT:The Got Your Back Day 5K Walk/Run is a unique and fun way to support families who are or have been affected by breast cancer, sickly children, Homelessness, and Suicide victims and survivors. We strive to shine light on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while supporting the efforts to change the lives of those who need just a little ounce of hope to continue their fight. We're extremely excited to WALK/RUN FOR A CAUSE while bringing awareness to breast cancer, the health of children, homelessness, and suicide prevention. We pray that this 5K will help people all around the world.GOT YOUR BACK DAY HISTORYGot Your Back Day was Founded on August 13, 2013 by Avonti Adizahyr. August 13th is an annual day to HAVE SOMEONES BACK! Each year on this day we strive to lend a hand to those in need. On August 13, 2013 we fed over 200 homeless men and women in Downtown Atlanta. On August 13, 2014 we held a Fashion Show to provide funds to two organizations (La Princesses, Inc. and Tru 2 Self, Inc.) who both strive to change the lives of young girls. On August 13, 2015 we held a clothing drive to provide clothing to the Atlanta Mission: My Sister's House Shelter as well as the Atlanta Mission: The Shepherd's Inn. For Got Your Back Day 2016, we simply used that day to share our gifts whether it was singing, spoken word, dancing, etc. to motivate people to NEVER GIVE UP. August 13th has great meaning, it's the birthday of Florence Butler R.I.P, the Grandmother of our Founder/President Avonti Adizahyr. Florence was known for her generous heart and her endless efforts to assure that everyone was well taken care of. Whether it was lending her hand to help the homeless, help striving students and/or sick children, or being a voice of reason for those who struggle with Mental Illness.EVENT DATES:The GYBDay5K EXPO will take place on August 13, 2019The GYBDay5K RACE will take place on August 17, 2019CHARITIES:The Eric R.
